Painting has been the focus of Deanna’s creative practice since her studies at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Urban life’s energy and identity is captured in through paintings and photographs which explore a city’s unique, distinctive features. Vancouver’s glass and neighbourhoods, and Paris’ panoramas are current focuses. Along with exhibiting her urban themed work regularly in the Lower Mainland in 2014 Deanna co-curated the exhibition of 18 female artists entitled “How Nice to Have a Hobby.”

Learning is a compelling and creative process for her. Deanna graduated in 2007 from Emily Carr University of Art + Design (BFA). She also studied Visual Arts and Applied Linguistics (MA) at Concordia University, in Montreal as well as French (BA) and Education (Professional Teacher Certification) at Simon Fraser University.
