Nur Shojai is an artist, illustrator, facilitator, and life coach. She works primarily in oil, acrylic, and watercolour, and currently concentrates on figurative and portraiture work that speak to the themes of human nature and spiritual reality. She studied contemporary realism oil painting with internationally acclaimed Italian painter Michele Del Campo in London, UK. Her realistic oil paintings, often painted alla prima, strive to express the emotions of the characters and evoke reflection in the viewer. She is working on an exciting new collection that combines fluid abstract painting techniques with figures and portraits in an intuitive, layered approach.
Outside of her individual studio practice she is developing and facilitating community-engaged and art for social change projects, with extensive experience with youth and young teens. She also serves on the team for The Centre for Human Progress (non-profit).
